President/General Overseer’s Opening Speech

2020: MY YEAR OF MOVING FORWARD

Beloved of Christ, life is a journey filled with lessons, hardship, heartaches, joy, celebration and special moments  that will ultimately lead us to our destination and our purpose in life. The road is not always smooth, in fact, throughout our travels, we will encounter many challenges which could cause retardation to the wheel of our progress. This obstacle exists in various forms, such as natural obstacle, geographical obstacle, human obstacle, legislative, generational curse and boundary adjustment, etc which could block us as Christians (I Chron. 29:15). As sojourner we have battle to fight, as pilgrims, a life-style to maintain and a day to remember in order to do this and get to our destination, God has his commands for us and the command is “tell my people to move forward” Exod. 14:15. The reason for the command is that staying in one position is not the will of our Heavenly Father for us (Deut. 1:6-7a). Throughout this year’s prayers, we shall be in battle with all forces of obstacles of any type and victory shall be ours and we shall move forward in Jesus name.

Prelude:

Recognition is the first step in actualization; forward movement of God’s people is one of God’s interest as human designer. In automobile, the designers did them in a way to move to any given direction by means of acceleration and break also to control the rate of the movement of the vehicle when applied but beside break, there is something known as friction which often holds down vehicles from forward movement, until it is taken out of the way, such vehicle will remain stagnant or grounded. God is aware of such frictions, obstacles, stoppers or hindrances in the way of his people, that is why he issued out His command that His interest is that we should move forward and by His grace we shall move forward in Jesus name.

WEEK TWO, SAT. FEB. 8 – FRI. FEB. 14, 2020

NIGERIA MUST MOVE FORWARD

Our nation can currently be said to be in a state of retardation in some areas while it is a state of total stagnation in many aspects of our national life. Stagnation has the tendency to bring about a state of corruption, coupled with hazardous environment due to the accumulation of dangerous vices being re-cycled into the system due to lack of movement.

A classical example will be the dead sea which contains a lot of deadly germs and many impurities because it does not flow out to other rivers.  Similarly, when a nation refuses to move forward, the natural consequences will be the breeding of every kind of evil vices being perpetuated by both the great and small. This is manifesting in the form of different dangerous groups that are springing up to terrorize our nation.  It therefore becomes a matter of urgency for us to cry to God so that every clog in our wheel of progress as a nation be divinely removed.

Texts:         Exodus 4: 15-16; Deuteronomy 1:6-8; Zachariah 4:6-7

Introduction

When the Israelites set out of Egypt, the first obstacle that confronted them was the Red sea. Along their journey to the promise land after crossing the red sea, they got to a particular mountain and they could no longer move forward until they were commanded to move on.

Nigeria as a nation has so many things that constituted obstacles to our forward movement. We want to cry to God for these obstacles to give way.

Prayer Points:

  1. Zachariah 4:6-7: Let us pray against the spirits of Boko Haram, Herdsmen unnecessary killings, Kidnappings, ritual killings of human beings which are surmountable mountains presently facing our nation. Our collective and fervent prayers can sack all these spirits from our nation and send them back to where they came from.

  5. Isaiah 10: 1-4: Let us pray against idleness, wastage and mis-appropriation of national wealth amongst the members of the national assembly. Consider the annual salary and allowances of each member of the national assembly and you will understand the reason for our lack of progress as a nation.
  6. Isaiah 55:7; Isaiah 1:16: Let us pray against the defilement of the land and people through the spread of fetish and occultic traditional medicine. This is fast replacing orthodox medicine. It is another wiles of the devil to return the nation to traditional religion and idolatry.

Texts:         Joel 2: 25-27; Zach 9:11-12; 1Sam 30:7-8

Introduction

It is a common knowledge for those that were born before the 1970’s and late 1970’s that Nigeria was then regarded as the Giant of Africa. This was because Nigeria was then the leading nation in Africa. This made citizens of other African countries and some Asian countries to migrate into Nigeria in search of greener pastures. I could vividly remember that majority of teachers in most government established schools were either Ghanaians, British or Indians nationals. While most of our hospitals were populated by either Indians or Egyptian doctors.

It is however sad to know that all these glories belong to the past. We must cry to God for the restoration of our lost glory.

Prayer Points

  1. I Sam 30:7-8: Let us pray that, all that the enemies of Nigeria’s progress have stolen, let them be restored back in Jesus’ name. It could be enemies within the nation or those outside the nation.
  2. Many of those in government before have converted public properties to their own private properties. Lord, compel them by your spirit and by your strong hand to return them in Jesus name.
  3. Joel 2:25-27: Dear lord, let your promise in this passage begin to take effect from this year 2020 in Jesus’ name.
  4. Zach 9:11-1: Lord, let all the areas of our hopelessness begin to experience divine intervention. Let all of our expectation begin to manifest into reality. [Prov23:18]
  5. Zach 9:12; Isaiah 45:2: Dear lord, let every shackles and fetters that have been used to imprison our nation by satanic forces through covenants by our leaders begin to break off now in Jesus name. May we begin to experience true freedom and enjoy double blessings in Jesus name.
  6. I Sam 4:211-22: Let us now lift up our voices and cry to God to please restore the glory of Nigeria as the giant of Africa and let our influence be felt globally in a positive way in Jesus’ name.

Our focus in today’s prayer is to decree progress for our nation in every aspect that will transform us into a prosperous nation. Our reliance on crude oil as the only life wire of this nation has to stop. This has cripple development in other areas, such as, agriculture, development in technology etc.

God, inspire our youths to engage in mechanized farming and mining of mineral resources that can be exported and used locally in Jesus’ name.

DAY 13, THURSDAY, FEB. 13, 2020

Topic:         PRAYER FOR THOSE IN AUTHORITY IN NIGERIA

Texts:         Rom 13:1-3; I Tim 2:1-4

Introduction

It is our responsibility as citizens of this country to pray for those in authority. As soon as they get to the place of authority, many of them will automatically become puppets in the hands of some spiritual powers higher than themselves who will seek to have them execute the agenda of Satan in their administration. In most cases, they are unaware that they are enforcing the will of satan over and against the will and purpose of God.

They need our prayers to succeed just as Aaron and Hur held the hands of Moses until Joshua defeated the Amalekites [Exodus 17:88-13].

Prayer Points:

  1. Let us pray for wisdom and discretion for the government towards improving the standard of living of average Nigerian and at the same time reducing the cost of living.
  2. 29:2: Let us pray against the influence of evil advisers and party stalwarts on our president. Let us pray that God should shield him from the influence of the spirits of error and limitation.
  3. Psalm 89:14; I Pet. 4:5; Amos 2:6: Let us bind and destroy the spirit of bribery and corruption in our judiciary system. Let us ask God to instill His fear in the hearts of our judges and magistrates so that they mete out judgment without fear or favor of men
  4. 26:6: Let us ask God to purge the Nigerian police of bad eggs and perpetrators of wickedness, especially among the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) who have turn themselves to become terrors to the masses. Let us equally bind the spirit of brutality and lack of respect for human dignity operating within the police force.
  5. Let us pray for the spirit of patriotism and selfless service to be planted in the hearts of members of the national assembly, both the upper and lower chambers.
  6. 49: 24-25: Let us ask the Holy Spirit to orchestrate the release of innocent men and women that are being unlawfully incarcerated.

DAY 14, FRIDAY, FEB. 14, 2020

Topic:         PRAYER FOR PROFESSIONALS AND THOSE IN BUSINESS

Texts:         Col. 4:14; Ezra 7:10; James 4:13

Introduction

It is very important that we pray for our professionals in this nation especially in the light of the mass exodus of professionals in search of greener pastures. The remuneration for Nigeria professionals is meagre when compared to some of their colleagues in other countries.  This is the reason why we are left with unqualified people manning sensitive places to the detriment of the lives and infrastructures put in place for the common good of the populace. We therefore need to pray before the whole system collapses.

Prayer Points:

  1. Let us pray that policies be formulated by the government to equip and furnish our hospitals with modern and up to date gadgets that will help our doctors and medical personnels to function effectively and efficiently.
  2. Let us bind the spirit of greed, avarice, exploitation and self centeredness in health workers and private hospital owners who are exploiting the masses.
  3. Let us pray for divine wisdom and understanding to harness all the resources that God has blessed our nation with for technological breakthrough for the nation.
  4. Let us Pray that the professionals in every field, whether doctors, lawyers, engineers, architects, etc. be handsomely remunerated so that they can remain in Nigeria and move our nation from being a developing country to a developed one.
  5. Let us pray for wisdom for those in power to create conducive environment for our youths to show case their talents and gifts instead of migrating abroad to become an asset to them there. The same youths that are said to be      lazy at home are still the same people that the xenophobic attack is destroying their lives and properties because they are doing better than the citizens of their host country.
  6. Let us ask God to stop the greed of our businessmen and women who produce sub-standard goods for local consumption. This is what is necessitating the importation of quality products. Let us ask God to arrest their consciences in Jesus’ name.
  7. Let us pray for many wealthy Nigerians that God should touch their hearts that they may begin to invest in Nigeria so that the economy can improve and employment can be created for the majority of the unemployed graduates and artisans who are forced to be idle due to lack of jobs to do.

WEEK 3, SAT. FEB., 15 – FRI. FEB. 21, 2020

OUR YEAR OF FORWARD MOVEMENT AS NEW LIFE FOR ALL NATIONS MINISTRIES

Every living organism do move sometimes these mobile being do encounter stoppage. Church as a living organism cannot be ruled out of stoppage, however, the message of God for us this year is that we should move forward (Exodus 14:15) what the Lord said was a command not an advice that His people should move forward and it is His responsibility to take away any obstacle from the way of His people that want to hinder them. This reveals God’s interest for his people. In Deut. 1:6-7a He emphasized that remaining in one position is not His plan therefore our prayer this week centred on forward movement for the ministry. Let us prepare our mind for forward movement as a ministry this year.

DAY 15, SATURDAY, FEB. 15, 2020

Topic:         IT IS TIME TO GET MOVING

Texts:         Exodus 14:15

Introduction

Our God is always interested in the progress and advancement of his people, church and ministry. Often times we pray for God to move while we neglect our own actions. The Lord told Moses to stop praying and get moving. Prayer must have a vital place in our lives, but there is also a place for action.
