New Life for All Nations Ministries
History was made on 20th December, 2018 in New Life for All Nations Ministries as new team of Leadership emerged. It was historical in the Ministry for a living General Overseer handing over to another General Overseer. Prior to this event, the founding father of the Ministry Evangelist Joshua Karounwi Solomon was unable to hand-over to a successor. It also repeated itself under the late Pastor Dr. Lawrence Oladeji before he passed on to glory.
In 2013, Pastor Ezekiel Adeniyi Adeoye took up the mantle of leadership (in acting capacity) of the Ministry following the demise of the then General Overseer, Pastor Dr. Lawrence Oladeji. He became substantive General Overseer/President of the Ministry in 2016. At 2017 Delegate Conference of the Ministry, he informed the house about his intention to voluntarily retire by 2018 delegate conference. His reason was in tandem with the Ministry constitution which set the retirement age at seventy years for Pastors and officers in the Ministry. According to him, he will clock seventy years in April 2019; he did not want to violate the Ministry constitution by continuing in the office until Delegates Conference 2019.
His decision was a turning point in the history of Pentecostal churches in which some General Overseer serve until they pass on without handing over. In view of the notification, the Delegate members requested the Board of Elders to search for a new General Overseer/President in line with the Ministry constitution. At the 2018 Delegate Conference, the “search party” of the Board of Elders presented the outcome of their findings. The house approved the appointment of Pastor Sunday Farotimi Edokpayi as the General Overseer/President of the Ministry, Pastor Samuel Olumide Orekoya as Assistant General Overseer (Operations), Pastor Matthew Olutunji Akinboade as Assistant General Overseer (Ministerial) and Pastor Aderemi Ayodele Akande as General Secretary and Executive Director of Administration.
The new team of leadership was ordained on 20th December, 2018 before the National Convention at the presence of massive crowd consisting the church, friends and families members of the celebrants. The General Overseers and founders of various ministries including Dr. Uzodinma Obed of Glory Tabernacle and Apostle Joel Iyiola, Oyo State PFN leadership and many other Ministers of God were in attendance. The event, which was the first in the history of the Ministry since 1972 marks the beginning of a turning point for the Ministry.
