The works of worldwide preaching of the gospel is still progressing today as it has been since over 2000 years ago when the risen Lord Jesus Christ gave the Commission. What is the motivating power behind this divine phenomenon? The Lord of the work is the power behind the work! This is what He said when He was ascending into heaven,

Missionary outreaches in Nigeria and other African countries were pioneered by European and American gospel workers in the 18th century. Today however, the mantle has fallen upon Africans and the spirit that worked in many of the European and American missionaries whom we read about in history is now mightily working among many African indigenes and national Christian workers. Truly, God is no respecter of any race, colour or tribe; if anyone shows himself committed and dedicated enough to His cause on earth, God will prove Himself powerful on their behalf in their generation.
The main challenges facing us as national workers or Christians in Africa today is to demonstrate that commitment and dedication in this generation: to the work of soul-wining and church planting activity among our people of different tribes, lands and countries.
